When WFAA Channel 8 brought its “Family First Town Hall” to the Sherman Municipal Ballroom, one of the citizens remarked, “We need something to bring our community together.”
That was the genesis of “Great Days of Service”…a program of community service held during the last week of June each year. Started as a partnership between First United Methodist Church and First Baptist Church, now seven churches representing a diverse part of the Christian community, as well as a number of community groups, make up our work
force.
During “Great Days of Service,” what unites us as a community is more powerful than what divides us. The Sherman community truly makes these “days” great.
